The Genie

‘The Genie’

Submitted my two entries (variants) to the Universal Pictures ‘Out Of The Shadows’ art contest where artist are called to create an original monster under the Universal Monsters brand; joining the ranks of Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman, etc. I opted to go for a more simplistic/ traditional “man in make-up” design, along with a fresh interpretation of an iconic myth. In my submission, I left the description as “up for interpretation”. What do genies mean to you? What does this setting mean to you? What does the narrative mean to you? I hope my character can have a chance to stand side by side with the classics. Thank you again to my friends that pointed this contest out to me!
